1. Open your web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.
2. Type into your address box (or click on the link) http://mail.google.com.
3. On the right hand side of your screen there should be two boxes. In the lower one it says {Sign up for Gmail} Double click on those BLUE words. It will pull up a screen that should say this. Fill in the form. Remember that your user name will become the first part of your email address.
 
4. Get started with Gmail

          * Desired Login Name:
                o Examples: JSmith, John.Smith
                o Use the "Check Availability" Button to see if your desired Login Name is available.
               
               
5. Choose a password:
          * Minimum of 8 characters in length, use letters AND numbers
          * Re-enter password:
          * Remember me on this computer.
         
6. Enable Web History.

9. Secondary email:
           *    This address is used to authenticate your account should you ever encounter problems or forget your password. If you do not have another email address, you may leave this field blank. Learn More
 
10. Word Verification:
          * Type the characters you see in the picture below.
                  o Letters are not case-sensitive
                  o NOTE: This is difficult to read. - If you get it incorrect, you will need to re-enter your password and the word verification.
                 
11. Terms of Service:  Submitting will indicate your agreement
12. After you enter in all of your info, click the I accept create my account button.
13. It will pull up an intro page. In the top right hand corner it will say I'm Ready show me my account. Click on those blue letters.
